Beethoven picked up the genre of piano quartet from Mozart – however, he harmonized the interplay between the piano and the strings in his works to a great extent. Besides, the musical demands Beethoven placed on himself were much higher than Mozart´s (especially for strings), being a source of consternation among the public and amateur musicians during the composer´s lifetime.

In this concert, we will hear an exclusive ensemble of internationally renowned performers: Mihaela Martin (violin), Amihai Grosz (viola), Frans Helmerson (cello) and Elena Bashkirova (piano). Most of them also teach music on a regular basis and have already educated several generations of young artists during their professorship.
