Mishka Rushdie Momen

Mishka Rushdie Momen studied with Joan Havill and Imogen Cooper at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has also studied with Richard Goode and Sir András Schiff, with whom she currently studies at the Kronberg Academy as part of the Sir András Schiff Performance Programme for Young Pianists. This study is funded by the Henle Foundation. In 2014 she won First Prize at the Dudley International Piano Competition and 2nd Prize at the Cologne International Piano Competition.

She has given solo recitals at major U.K. venues such as the Barbican Hall, London, the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester, Symphony Hall, Birmingham, and abroad in the USA, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland and India. Sir András Schiff has presented her in recitals in Zurich Tonhalle, New York’s 92Y, Antwerp deSingel, and in Berlin, Frankfurt, Milan, Florence and Turin.

Committed equally to chamber music and solo playing, her musical partners have included Steven Isserlis, Midori, and members of the Endellion, Belcea, Orion and Artemis String Quartets. She has played in the Marlboro, Krzyzowa and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Music Festivals and regularly participates in Open Chamber Music at the International Musicians Seminar in Prussia Cove, Cornwall.

Mishka Rushdie Momen released her first commercial recording in 2017 produced by Somm Recordings, appearing as one of the soloists in Mozart’s Triple Concerto with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Her debut solo recording, “Variations” was released in October 2019 on the same label. Her playing has been broadcast on BBC Radio and Television, France Musique, New York’s WQXR, Canada’s CBC, which featured Variations as a Record of the Week, and on regional radio stations across the United States.
