The Staatheater Nürnberg has announced its 2023-24 season. here is a look at the operatic and vocal selections.

Revivals

The season opens with Paul Hindemith’s “Mathis der Maler” with Roland Böer conducting the new production by Jens-Daniel Herzog.

Premiere Date: Oct. 1, 2023

Jan Croonenbroeck conducts Donizetti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor” with Ilaria Lanzino directing.

Premiere Date: Nov. 5, 2023

Marco Štorman directs Strauss’ “Die Fledermaus” in time for the holiday season.

Premiere Date: Nov. 25, 2023

Roland Böer conducts Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” with Vera Nemirova directing.

Premiere Date: Jan. 20, 2024

Rossini’s “Der Märchenprinz” will be conducted by Chiara Casarotto and Andreas Paetzold. The production is by Annika Nitsch.

Premiere Date: Jan. 21, 2024

Jürgen Grimm conducts “Jesus Christ Superstar” in a production by Andreas Gergen.

Wagner’s “Parsifal” will be presented in a production by David Hermann and conducted by Roland Böer.
