No first prizes awarded in Leonid Kogan Violin Competition senior categories
The 7th edition of the Leonid Kogan Violin Competition for Young Violinists has announced its laureates for its senior categories, following announcement of its junior category winners last week. No first prizes were awarded.
In the third category (14 to 17 years old), joint second prize went to Andrea Lam (17, China) and Gaeun Kim (15, South Korea) worth €500, while Corina Deng (15, Canada) took third prize of €300. Sophia Logar (16, Slovenia) was named as a diploma finalist.
In the fourth category (up to 23 years old at the time of application), joint second prize went to Hao Li (24, China) and Rui Yuan (17, China) worth €600. No third prize was awarded. Mariam Magdalena Hanikova (21, Czech Republic) was named as a diploma finalist.
This year’s competition was held entirely online, with competitors submitting video performances. The 8th edition will be held in Brussels in 2024.
