Nova Orchester Wien will be performing an exciting program of music. Tchaikovsky Variations on a Rococo Theme with 2011 Tchaikovsky Competition Gold medalist, Narek Hakhnazaryan, Shostakovich Symphony No. 1, Tailleferre Petite Suite for Orchestra, and A confused and troubled society by our very own Chief Conductor William Garfield Walker. Since winning first prize and the gold medal at the XIV International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2011, Narek Hakhnazaryan has delighted audiences around the world with his exceptional talent. Hailed as "breathtakingly brilliant" (The Strad) and "nothing short of magnificent" (San Francisco Chronicle), he has performed with renowned orchestras such as the London Symphony, Chicago Symphony, LA Philharmonic and many others, and with some of the world's most celebrated conductors , including V. Gergiev and M. Honeck.
Narek has a special relationship with Vienna, where he was invited by the Wiener Konzerthaus as part of the "Great Talent" series and has performed with the Wiener Symphoniker and J. Hrůša. In addition to his solo achievements, he is also a passionate chamber musician and has performed at numerous prestigious festivals, including the Verbier Festival and London's Wigmore Hall.
