Inspired by the exhibition "L'Archet Révolutionnaire " held in London (2015), the Quatuor Akos starts to explore the historical approaching by using the original classical bows for the classical repertoire composed from 18th to beginning of 19th century.

Their first album consisting of integral piece of Joseph Haydn's Opus 76, thanks to the financial support offered by the Foundation Fravanni (Belgium), will be recorded with the original classical bows and will be released in January 2021 from NoMadMusic.

The Quatuor Akos benefits Jérôme Akoka's teaching from its very beginning of the creation. They have become acquainted with internationally renowned artists such as Luc-Marie Aguera (Quatuor Ysaÿe), Christophe Coin (Quatuor Mosaïque), Antoine Lederlin and Axel Schacher (Belcea Quartet), Claire Thirion and Pablo Hernán Benedí (Chiaroscuro Quartet), and Yovan Markovitch (Quatuor Danel). It is also their pleasure to extend the chamber music repertory by collaborating with richly experienced artists. They have performed together with Yoko Kaneko, Yovan Markovitch, Gustav Rivinius, Virginie Robilliard, Louis Rodde and Laurent Wagschal.

The Quatuor Akos plays in various concerts in France, and as well in Germany. They appeared in various festivals and academies such as Leonidas Kavakos International Violin and Chamber Music Masterclass (Athens), Nymphenburger Sommer (Munich), Le Chant de la Rive (Bretagne), Les Musicales de Ristolas (Ristolas), Le Festival Flam'(Blaye), L'Academie Musique à Flaine (Flaine), Festival Format Raisins (Nevers),Festival Musique de Chambre de Metz (Metz) etc…

The Quatuor Akos receives the instrumental support offered by the Foundation Culture et Musique (France), and they are currently artist-in-residence  of Belcea Quartet Charitable Trust.
