76 years ago the concentration camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated, - the most horrific concentration and extermination camp of the Nazi epoque which has become the Holocaust symbol and a breathtaking proof for the terrorist Hitler regime. Year after year we bow down to remember people who lost their lives in Auschwitz. We at CLASSIC@HOME do that as well and invite music lovers from all over the world to set off for a little journey through the Jewish music and culture. The Jewish music and culture inspired numerous composers from different countries and gave birth to a hundreds, even thousands of outstanding performers. The concert program includes pieces by the French composer Darius Milhaud and Deux mélodies hébraïques by the great Maurice Ravel, George Gershwin´s preludes and the Baal Shem hassidic suite by Ernst Bloch as well as the new piece written by the contemporary composer Avner Dorman, an Israeli currently living in the USA.
